There is plenty to do in Prince Edward County! We encourage our runners to enjoy the balance of their weekend in PEC by taking a wine tour with Sandbanks Vacations, visit the many artists studios and galleries along the Arts Trail, and on Sunday, celebrate the 75th Apple Blossom Festival in Waupoos at the County Cider Company!
From 1-3pm on May 25th, the County Cider Company joins the St. John’s Anglican Church in celebrating all things apple. In addition to slices of apple pie (or buying a whole pie) topped with Black River Cheese, you can take part in a tutored cider tasting!
Ms Pinot and Ms Rose show our runners the true spirit of the Terroir Run!
We’re super excited to announce that our good friends at Zest Kitchen Shop have generously donated a prize to reward the runner with the best costume at our 2014 run! While we’ve had a few creative and courageous runners get into the costume spirit in the past (we’re looking at your Karin D and Petra KM) we’re encouraging ALL of our runners to add some ZEST to our run and come in costume this year.
Zest Kitchen Shop will be providing the winner of the ZEST costume award an awesome summer picnic basket. Inside the wicker picnic basket (that has an insulated/zipped waterproof lining to keep food inside warm or cool) the winner will find: two durable/reusable Ecologie plates (made of crushed bamboo and rice husks), two break resistant, BPA-free wine glasses, two sunflower drink covers from Charles Viancin that seal tightly on your glass to keep little critters like fruit flies out of your drink (works on all smooth rims including plastic), a marble cheese knife, double lever corkscrew, pack of 20 napkins and a hibiscus wine stopper. Our crew at the Terroir Run will top up the basket with a bottle of PEC #VQA wine and some delicious cheese from Black River Cheese Company.
Everything our ZEST costume winner gets to celebrate their success!
So get ready to go on a perfect PEC post run with your Zest Kitchen prize for the runner with ZEST!
