Although May 29th’s Terroir Run is about people who love to experience the “sense of place” of a region through 10k of gentle country road, local wines and seasonal ingredients, we still need to ensure that all precautions are taken for our runners’ safety and comfort. To this end, and literally at the end, we’ve arranged a Follow Car to warn motorists that they’re approaching our participants and just in case someone needs a break or simply wants to ride-in to the finishline. When we thought about who would make a great finishing partner we were contacted by our local brewery, Barley Days, to see how they could support our Hillier event. We are pleased to announce that their big, blue beer truck will be following our runners to keep an eye on everyone so we all arrive at Norman Hardie’s lunch safe and sound. They have even gone a step further to offer samples of their brilliant ice-cold beer to accompany our woodoven pizza and Vicki’s greens lunch along with Norman’s award-winning wines. We are thrilled and also want to remind anyone who’s making a “County Weekend” of the run by coming early for the 6th annual Terroir event that Barley Days ownership group also has accommodations at the Waring House, the beautiful Claramount Inn, and the County’s best breakfast joint at their Picton Harbour Inn. Special thanks to Chris & Nora Rogers for their ongoing support!
