What do sunshine + a little wind + some amazing people + fantastic wine & food equal? The BEST TERROIR RUN EVER!

Our group of 80 runners braved the brisk Sunday morning winds (and hangovers – for some) to join us at The Old Third Vineryard on May 26th. Runners started off with a bang from winemaker Bruno Francois bird-banger! We had the wind to the north of us all along Closson Road and thankfully it was at our backs as we made it down the gravelly Benway Road to Greer. While many thought it was a cruel joke to run past the finish line, around the tractor at Rosehall Run and back to the 1st driveway at Norman Hardie’s it was SO worth it! Greeted by Magdalena Kaiser-Smit (of Wine Country Ontario), our not so official time-keeper, they made they way to the winery and the best post run feast one could  imagine: fresh baked rye bread with a choice of either greek yogurt and rhubarb compote or egg salad, fresh made PEC Lavendar iced tea, wine, wine, wine, beer, peach cider, spring salads and pizza!

The first six runners to cross the finish line (top 3 females and top 3 males) were: Neil Dowson, Glennis Walsh, John Szabo, Amy Greenshields, Nicholas Araya and Cathy Spoel – congrats you speed demons! While this is not a race we do reward our top 3 male and 3 female runners with complimentary registration for 2014 run!

Plenty more great memories from the day to share – coming as soon as we get the awesome shots from our friend and photographer Jo Dickins!
