For some it’s the personal challenge. Others the opportunity to experience a beautiful part of our province from the vantage point of a gentle run. Still others to get a crash course in some of Ontario’s finest new wineries. After an “run through” yesterday I can suggest another compelling reason, the local lunch of a lifetime. For runners and now for guests of runners, we’ll all end up at Norman Hardie‘s beautiful vineyard and experience his first brickoven pizzas. On the patio behind the winery we’ll share Johannes’ special Flammen Kuchen, as well as a number of other tastes accompanied by Cynthia Peters‘ seasonal salad featuring Vicki‘s Greens (please note that Vicki’s Heirloom Seedling Sale will be on during the Terroir Weekend), fresh seasonal ingredients and her special vinaigrette – she may even share the recipe on our site. For those seeking motivation here is co-founder Rebecca LeHeup with Norman testing a few of the pies with a glass of his ’08 Chardonnay and a bottle of Barley Days beer.
